Manteo Middle School has been selected as one of the 50 finalists in the 2008 Real D.E.A.L. (Dedicated Educators Administrators and Learners) School Awards - and the only Dare County School to receive this prestigious honor.  Schools were selected based on outstanding student achievement over the past two years and positive teacher working conditions from the 2008 Teacher Working Conditions Survey. 

Over the next few weeks the Selection Team, comprised of members from the Governor's Office, The Governor's Teacher Advisory Committee and the Director of Professional Teaching Standards Commision, will evaluate each of the 50 Finalists and make the final determination of the state winners.

We are proud of all the efforts from our staff, faculty, students, and parents for making this recognition possible.
